If you’re looking for a boost in your spiritual growth, you’ll want to check out and attend the Church’s education classes, Bible studies and support groups listed below. Please write us if you have any questions or will be coming so we can save you a seat and workbook. We are also working on rebooting our adult Bible class–only 30 minutes long–in between the two Church Services from 10:00-10:25AM in the theatre.
Men's Ministries
Pastor Todd leads Men’s Bible Study & Discipleship group every Wednesday in the Christian Education classrooms behind Mt. Lassen Theatre (200 Main St. in Chester) from 6:30 am – 8:00 am. If you have questions about our men’s ministries, please contact us.
Women's Ministries
We help women find and follow God while supporting and encouraging women with their spiritual growth through teaching and studying God’s Word.
Our Women’s Ministry Coordinator Jill Theriault leads Women’s Bible study every Monday in the CE (Children’s Education) Trailer from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Women's Ministry Coordinator
— About Jill Theriault
Jill & her husband Curt both grew up in Michigan and moved to northern California in 2013 with their two sons. Jill worked in the travel industry for over 25 years and is now a certified Christian Life Coach.
After the death of their son Nathan, Jill volunteered for the Bereaved Parents of the USA support group where she held various positions such as Newsletter Editor, Treasurer, and became the Chapter Leader where she offered support to grieving parents and grandparents. She also served on the Board of Directors for Bereaved Parents as well. God has always been front and center in her life which has helped with her arduous grief journey.
As a Christian Life Coach, Jill’s passion is to help women find P.E.A.C.E. (Purpose, Encouragement, Acceptance, Clarity, Endurance) on their their spiritual walk with the Lord, along with helping those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Her years of sending encouraging emails to family and friends led her to create a blog: On God’s Time where she shares her love of Christ and His Word in her uplifting messages.
Jill enjoys experiencing God’s beautiful creation through traveling and photography, and enjoys leading Women’s Bible study and planning various events for women in our community through Mt Lassen Community Church. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

"Finally No More Excuses"
A big heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kathy A James for speaking at our First Women’s Seminar!
The ladies were inspired and thoroughly enjoyed hearing Dr. James share her love for God, her wisdom and life experiences. Dr. James book “Finally No More Excuses” is filled with tips on how to eliminate excuses which spoke to each of us. The activities she planned were beneficial and helped shift our thought process on how to view our excuses differently and to eliminate them.

The ladies enjoyed learning how to surrender their daily walk with God while enjoying their fellowship and prayer time together and the outdoor activities!

MLCC Children's Church
Children’s Church class is offered at our 10:30AM Church Service only. Two of our goals for MLCC’s Christian education classes for kids are: (1) To assist parents by equipping children with biblical knowledge and disciplines in order to live God’s ways and face the unique challenges among their younger generations; (2) To explore more ways that we can also encourage, equip and involve parents in their children’s spiritual growth. Our Christian education classes and ministries are led by our awesome and inspiring Children’s Christian Education Coordinator, Jerilyn Cleeves, and her loving team of teachers and helpers (see below for Jerilyn’s bio)

— About Jerilyn Cleeves
Jerilyn’s passion, mission and calling for Christian children’s ministry and education comes from a lifetime of positive experiences in it.
Jerilyn was born in San Diego County and was raised in Ramona, California. She was the third born of eight siblings. Her belief in and love for Jesus Christ started at a very young age, being raised in a Christian home. In her early years, Jerilyn attended private Christian schools, eventually receiving her diploma from Foothills Christian High School.
Because her heart always longed to help people discover beauty within themselves, her initial outlet was cosmetology. She attended beauty school, and received her cosmetology license. She worked in beauty salons from Coeur D’ Alene to Lake Almanor. Jerilyn has strong people and administrative gifts and exhibited them even in running her family’s local business for five years.
The Lord blessed Jerilyn with her husband Kevin, two beautiful children, and a Church family with endless love. They also lead a Young Married’s group Bible study and have helped out with other MLCC ministries like sound and media. Jerilyn & Kevin are passionate godly Christians.
Jerilyn wanted all parents to know this: “It is my privilege and honor to be given the opportunity to partner with you in encouraging and empowering the heart and faith of your children by teaching them about God, the Gospel and the Bible. My vision for our mountain community is to bring back the joy into being a believer. Your children face many spiritual and secular enemies in this life but God’s and my plan is to help you train up mighty warriors to fight those foes and become a fully developed disciple of Jesus Christ!
Jerilyn’s ministry duties include but are not excluded to:
- Oversight of Sunday School classes and classrooms from the nursery to adolescent kids
- Selecting and administrating Christian education curriculum and supplies for all children’s classes
- Appointing, supporting and equipping other Christian education teachers, substitutes and other workers/volunteers
- Preparing and executing special events like our Easter EGGstravaganza Carnival or other holiday festivities
Covid-19 Safety and Protocols for Children's Church & Nursery:
- Masks offered indoors for kids and adult helpers
- Temperature checks at entrance of CE trailer
- Sanitizing stations offered for children & adults
We ask that any child who feels sick to kindly stay home with their parent and enjoy a past virtual KIDS Church online via MLCC’s Vimeo TV or our Facebook recordings.
We offer warm, loving and sanitized nursery care for God’s and your precious babies and toddlers in our nursery with amazing grandmas in our church family. Monitors are provided to each parent as they sit in the adult Church service for added peace if they are needed back in the nursery.
